Torah@Twilight is excited and proud to host an inspiring Shabbaton for boys who are ready to learn interesting topics in halacha nightly at 9PM for 20 minutes and on Erev Shabbos!


We will IYH be enjoying the beautiful grounds of Camp Romimu in Monticello, NY for Shabbos Parshas Behar, May 20-21.

  • Do I need to have been on Torah@Twilight previously?

No, you can start your commitment today and join. You will need to record your learning. Click here for instructions on how to add your learning: romimu.com/points/

  • Who is it for?

 Boys in sixth grade and up who commit to joining Torah@Twilight for forty days between now and the summer. Fifteen of those days must be completed before May 20th.

  • Is this only open to Romimu campers?

No, anyone can join. You do not need to be registered in Camp Romimu in order to join.

  • When does the Shabbaton begin and end?

We will be leaving midday on Friday and will be returning from camp on Motzei Shabbos. All boys must commit to being in Yeshiva on Friday and Sunday.

  • What will we be doing in camp?

On Friday, IYH, we will enjoy the lake, aqua park, banana boats, swimming pool and all the sports facilities. We will have our Likras Shabbos program live, followed by davening, seudos, hartzige kumzitz, Oneg Shabbos. On Shabbos day, we will have an incredible Shabbos Hasmodah program with prizes.

  • Who do I bunk with?

We will place you with your friends.

  • Will there be counselors?

Of course.

  • From where and when are the buses leaving?

Buses will be leaving from Brooklyn, Queens, Five Towns, Monsey, Passaic, Lakewood and Baltimore (subject to the number of reservations). Times and locations of departure will be announced.

  • By when do I need to sign up?

Your reservation needs to be in by May 4th.

  • What do I need to bring?

- Lunch for Friday will be eaten on the bus, please bring your own lunch.

- Bedding (pillow, blanket, sheet)

- Shabbos clothing and shoes

- Tefillin (just in case)

- Bathing suit, towel

- Toiletries

- Pajamas

- Baseball mitt (optional)

- Do not bring: cell phones (phones will be available in the office for use), scooters, rollerblades, barbeque grills

    • We just moved and when the movers left, we remembered that we needed to put up mezuzahs in the entire house. We put up the mezuzahs with scotch tape. Did we do the right thing?

    • We just moved into a home which has never had mezuzahs. When the movers brought in the furniture, we told them to block an unnecessary door with a heavy piece of furniture. Does that door need a mezuzah?

  • Lo Sosefu (you should not add) to the mitzvos:

    • The Torah tells us not to eat bosor b’cholov, but the chachmim added a issur to eat even chicken together with milk.

    • The chachamim added many mitzvos. For example, Chanukah.

    • A boy who knows how to wave the lulav is obligated in the mitzvah of lulav, and if he can “wrap himself,” he is obligated in tzitzis. Why don’t boys put on tefillin at the age of 9 or 10?

    • Why don’t we say a shechiyanu the first time we put tefilin?

    • I see people placing their tefillin bags, watches, and eyeglasses on top of seforim. Is that correct?

    • Can I stack a bunch of seforim on top of each other in order that my Chumash will be easier to read?

    • If someone with whom I share a bench in shul puts his siddur down on the bench on which I am sitting do I need stand up each time he does this?

    • Is it enough to put the siddur on edge?

    • Lo sisgodidu: How are people who wear tefillin and those who don’t permitted to daven in the same minyan?

    • I have a yad (pointer) for a sefer Torah which is a family heirloom. When I lain, I like to use it, so I stick it in my pocket and bring it with me. While it is in my pocket, can I enter a bathroom?

    • A child decided that he was no longer going to finish the meal. After the mother forced him to continue eating – is a new bracha necessary?
